MAINTAINING relationships
STALEVO is indicated for
certain patients with Parkinson's disease experiencing symptom
reemergence due to "wearing-off."

Explaining your Parkinson's disease (PD) to others, even loved ones, can be difficult, but it may help to talk about your PD.
Your local chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association (APDA) can help you find a friendly ear whenever you need one. The APDA Web site can help you find your local chapter with the name and telephone number of key personnel.

Be as open with your family as you can. Explain your symptoms so that they know what to expect, particularly to children who may find it harder to understand what PD means. For advice on how to adjust to the changes Parkinson's disease is making in your life, a counselor can be invaluable.
For day-to-day living, use local stores and services where people know you and are more likely to understand. They will be more than willing to help you maintain your independence, and just as ready to help you when you need it, especially for simple things, like getting a glass of water to help you take your medications.
