While medications, such as carbidopa/levodopa, initially provide control, over time you may see changes in the way carbidopa/levodopa controls your symptoms. At times, you may become very slow and stiff, have difficulty dressing or walking, or see a re-emergence of tremor.

If you take carbidopa/levodopa for PD, you may find that your symptoms begin to come back before the next scheduled dose of carbidopa/levodopa.
This change is called "wearing-off."
Inform your healthcare provider if you notice symptom re-emergence. This is due to medication wearing-off, and it may mean it's time to adjust or change your medication. Consult your healthcare provider before making any change to your medication regimen. Consistent communication with healthcare providers is essential for managing your symptoms as they surface.

You may think about holding back information from your healthcare provider out of fear that it means your Parkinson's disease is getting worse.
Don't. Your healthcare provider needs an accurate idea of your symptoms in order to help you preserve your independence longer.
